Word is Mariah Carey is reportedly being pursued to be the guest judge on the season finale of Project Runway. According to Fashion Week Daily, Project Runway producers are actively pursuing Mariah Carey to be the final judge at the series finale taping during New York Fashion Week.

I know last season they had Posh on, but at least she is some what of a style icon. The same can not be said for La Carey. I knew this show was going to go down hill the moment it went to Lifetime: Television for Women. That is such a Glitter t.v. station if there every was one.

Though I will give the Mimi some credit because she has been dressing a lot better lately, thanks in large part to Andre Leon Tally who helped set the style challenged diva straight.

Word is Carey wrote it in hopes it would become a theme for the Olympics, but reconsidered once Barack became the presumed Dem presidential candidate. The song has yet to be recorded.

So apparently one fragrance wasn't enough now Mariah is hocking a new one called "Luscious Pink," a sparkling floral, has top notes of Sicilian bergamot, Ocean Breeze accord and sparkling Bellini accord; a heart of Tahitian Tiare petals, lily of the valley and pink peony, and a drydown of bright blond woods, creamy sandalwood and white musk, which the perfumers describe as "a floral melody that is as enveloping as Mariah's voice." Do we really need to smell Mariah's voice?

I love how the bottles are almost identical, way to be original Mariah, and can someone within her entourage please inform her that butterflies have been out since like the mid 90's.

So as previously mentioned Mariah's music caused aggression on the road ways, well I came upon a news report that states the Mariah song in question was "One Sweet Day." I have to say it broke my heart to find out it was not a track from Glitter, but it is possible that this is just a cover up and in fact the song was a track from Glitter, this is just conjecture of course.

This is more proof that there is a larger conspiracy going on here. I was watching a little telly, when the trailer for the new Adam Sandler movie came on and elements of the PGW were apparent. If you watch the trailer (linked above) on several occasions you see Sandler sporting a Mariah Carey t-shirt.

Is this part of a larger plot to subliminally saturate our subconscious with Mariah to create some type of neural bleed which could trigger some kind of mind control at a later date?? I mean why were Mariah t-shirts used instead of another pop star. It has to be for a more darker and sinister reason then just a character quirk.

Glitter can cause Severe Aggression

Apparently this man was arrested Saturday night for assault, the incident went down something like this. Zachary Schreiber (shown left) was driving around blaring a Mariah Carey song, when a person in a fellow car who disliked Mariah called him out using a derogatory adjective. This caused and exchange of words which led to Schreiber at the next stop to then throw a beer bottle at the other driver.

He has been charged with shooting a missile into the vehicle and criminal mischief. What I really want to know is, what song was he jamming out to, could have it possibly been the Glitter soundtrack?. Can exposure to Glitter cause violence and crime or is it just any exposure to Mariah?

The rumor mill has been buzzing that Mariah and her new husband (shown left) are planning a family. Mariah's manager, Benny Mendia (Benny is such a Glittery name), denies that the Mimo is with child, though she has stated that getting knocked up is "part of the whole purpose of getting married."

Mariah Carey is still in the PGW - which by the way what is the PGW like for those that were in glitter? (I'm sure that's what caused her nervous breakdown) - She made a zillion costume changes ala billie and still sings the glitter songs on tour this year.

Mariah Carey is not the most kinetic of live performers. The pop diva with the glass-shattering voice doesn't really dance, and she doesn't race around the stage -- preferring to take dainty, deliberate steps in her designer stilettos. And who can blame her? It can't be easy keeping your balance on heels so high that they look like knitting needles.
Mostly, then, the movement is limited to Carey's vocal acrobatics -- and there were plenty during her concert at Verizon Center on Thursday. Though she's been showing off a more breathy style in recent years, Carey still has a propensity for taking off on runs that sound like a boiling teakettle with perfect pitch.

Mariah Carey shows off her exceptional voice, among other things, in a Los Angeles concert. 'Mariah Carey is not the most kinetic of live performers. The pop diva with the glass-shattering voice doesn\'t really dance, and she doesn\'t race around the stage -- preferring to take dainty, deliberate steps in her designer stilettos. Carey exited stage right a half-dozen times during her 90-minute concert, sometimes for just a minute or two but also for lengthier periods that usually signaled a costume change. (Total outfit count: five.) Some of the breaks dragged on long enough for a deejay to spin parts of at least two dozen hit rap and R&B records as a hype man barked about taking it back EWWW - DICE!!! (Bell Biv Devoe's "Poison"), waaaaay back (Michael Jackson's "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' ").
The frequent strolls backstage repeatedly derailed the concert's momentum, which was a shame since Carey was in such fine voice; no longer an emotionless vocal technician, she even sounded like a credibly gritty soul singer during an inspired reading of her first hit, 1990's "Vision of Love." Ultimately, though, the walk-offs did her in: When Carey left the stage, yet again, after a powerhouse performance of her soaring (if saccharine) ballad "Hero," the crowd cheered briefly, then turned nearly silent -- not realizing that it was time to call Carey back for an encore.It took flashing stage lights to prompt the audience, and eventually Carey returned to sing "We Belong Together," the biggest hit from her enormously successful comeback CD, "The Emancipation of Mimi."
One of the best-selling titles of 2005, the album reestablished Carey, 36, as a bona fide hitmaker after a series of artistic misfires and a very public meltdown. Thus, this is very much a triumphal tour. The show opens with a video of Carey saying that if whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, then, well, gosh, she's really strong -- apparently to the point that she can even turn references to her failures into symbolic celebrations. The concert here closed with two confetti guns spraying the crowd with . . . glitter! "Glitter," of course, being the title of Carey's semi-autobiographical movie and an accompanying album, both of which were tremendous, potentially career-killing flops.
Carey didn't exactly gloat about her return to A-list status, however, and she never fully indulged her inner diva. Not even when the stage lights came back up prematurely between songs while the star was dabbing her glistening face with a tissue. "You caught me," she said with a giggle. If anything, Carey seemed charmingly awkward, coming across as a regular gal blessed with an exceptional voice. She may have 17 No. 1 singles, but she's still just Mariah from the block. Or, as it were: Mimi from the block, as she performed 2005's "Shake It Off" in front of Broadway lights that spelled out her alter ego's name.
The song married a pop vocal to a hip-hop beat -- a formula Carey first started using more than a decade ago on hits including "Fantasy." She performed that tune here as a virtual duet with the late rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard, who rather creepily delivered his vocal from the grave. Several living rappers also appeared via canned studio tracks, including Jay-Z on "Heartbreaker," as Carey loaded the set with hip-hop-infused material.
But she didn't exactly ignore the ballads and, in fact, the highlight of the show was a fiery cover of "I'll Be There," the Jackson 5 tune that Carey originally recorded 14 years ago during a live MTV special. The song was performed as a duet with one of Carey's backup singers, Trey Lorenz, who spent most of the show seated on a stool at the back of the split-level stage. He couldn't sit still for the entire show, however: Lorenz disappeared backstage before the song, precisely so that he might make a dramatic entrance moments later. Last night I went out with a couple of my new colleagues. One of them drove over to my apartment so I could change out of work clothes, and I left her sitting on the couch while I put together a Friday-night ensemble as Mariah would say. To that end, the self-dubbed Mimi has befriended Vogue editor André Leon Talley, who previously worked his transforming touch on Donald Trump's model wife, Melania. He's reportedly lending a well-manicured hand to get the Grammy winner out of her rainbow- and butterfly-festooned ensembles and into classy couture.

Fashion mavens may have noticed the frock bore an uncanny resemblance to the one worn by Mrs. Trump to the Costume Institute bash earlier this month and on the front of Vogue in February. That wasn't a coincidence.

"She saw the [Vogue] cover I did with Melania and she said, 'I want the same dress,'" Talley recounts. "I made the phone call and it happened and Mariah paid for the dress."

According to Britto, André is helping the big-lunged chanteuse mend "broken relationships with fashion houses," who were apparently ticked off that the designs they'd loan her would end up "shorter or not worn right." (Perhaps if Carey avoids making skin-revealing alterations in the future, she won't have to cough up her own cash for the couture.)

"She has an incredible sense of style, but then she went out in outfits like cutoff shorts and tank tops," explains her publicist, who fingers Mariah's former minions for her endlessly mocked fashion foibles.

NEXT to eating, we foodies like little better than chewing the fat about the latest fads, and I imagine Mariah Carey's new diet must be a hot topic for table talk.
You might have read the report at the weekend that the pop singer is going through a purple patch. She eats only vegetarian foods of that colour in an effort to stave off wrinkles.
Odd diets seem to be the norm for celebs. A while ago it was reported that another singer, Christina Aguilera, has a diet based on the texture and colour of food. Each meal is made up of four different food items: one crunchy, one soft, one hot and one cold. Also, the foods must be in contrasting colours.
Carey's diet is at least simpler than that, and it might even be good for you, because it seems that dark fruit and beetroot are especially high in antioxidants.
"Purple products are nature's best weapons in the battle against ageing," says her diet consultant. "There's a saying that a plum a day keeps a facelift away."

Cases Of Glitter Lung On The Rise Among Elementary-School Art Teachers November 23, 2005 CHICAGO—

The Occupational Safety And Health Administration released figures Monday indicating that record numbers of elementary-school art teachers are falling victim to pneumosparklyosis, commonly known as glitter lung. Dr. Linda Norr scans a sufferer who spent more than two decades in the classrooms. Nearly 8,000 cases were reported in 2004, the most recent year for which statistics are available. This is the highest number since the arts-and-crafts industry was deregulated in 1988.

Characterized by a lack of creative energy and shortness of breath, and accompanied by sneezing or coughing up flakes of twinkly, reflective matter, glitter lung typically strikes teachers between the ages of 29 to 60 who spend 20 hours per week in an art-class setting during the school year. "When art teachers spend so much time in confined quarters with inadequate ventilation amid swirling clouds of glitter, it's only a matter of time before their lungs start to suffer negative effects," said Dr. Linda Norr, a specialist in elementary-school-related respiratory diseases. "Those sufferers who are not put on a rigorous program of treatment often spend their last days on respirators, hacking up a thick, dazzling mucus."

As incidences of glitter lung continue to rise, critics are accusing public schools of not doing enough to protect art teachers. Former art teacher Miles Winfield, who recently testified before a House subcommittee on unsafe working conditions, said that, as his symptoms worsened, his principal looked the other way, fearing defamation lawsuits from the powerful glitter industry. "Most art teachers are afraid to come forward, for fear of losing their jobs," Winfield said. "At an absolute minimum, an art teacher should be equipped with a respirator, thick goggles, and a reflective-field smock. But schools don't want to stand up to Big Glitter, which continues to insist that this stuff is safe. Schools end up falsifying the safety reports and hoping they get away with it. And they usually do."

Until heavier, less toxic forms of glitter are developed, physicians recommend using alternative media to enhance children's artwork. Though only 47 years old, Lawrence, KS art teacher Helen Niles was forced to quit her job and lose her health insurance after her chronic glitter lung rendered her unfit for full-time work in February. "At first, I had no idea what was going on," Niles said. "I'd wake up in the morning and I'd have this gritty feel in my mouth. The school nurse told me it was nothing, but eventually I was waking up with a shiny, sparkling stain on the pillow." "People who have worked with glitter know that it gets everywhere if you don't sprinkle it very carefully. It can stick to your clothes and your skin," Niles said. "Imagine working in an environment where the atmosphere contains 10 parts per million, and you quickly realize what our nation's art teachers are up against."

The medical community has been slow to recognize glitter lung as a public health threat. A 1993 epidemic of sequin fibrosis, which primarily affected dancers in the Las Vegas, NV area, was seen as an isolated case. Now, however, the disease is being re-evaluated, and many doctors believe it may be the most serious occupational health hazard to hit educators since the outbreak of gold-star syndrome in the 1960s. Epidemiologists note that the increase in glitter-lung cases is occurring simultaneously with a general rise in other classroom-related diseases. Macaroni elbow, modeling clay palsy, crayon flu, and googly-eye are sidelining thousands of teachers each year. I don't know how I missed it until now, but I just read this review of Glitter on IMDb, which I shall quote in full, unedited, as evidence that there are others out there trapped in the PGW:

I saw this movie like a year ago but it will never get out of my head, when I travel I can't never sleep so I'm forced to watch the movies that are on the plain, bus, car, etc... this one was in a bus, and I have to say that it's, tied with an Olsen twins movie, the worst flick I have seen in a vehicle, of course that I can't remember a worst movie in any situation, maybe Jim Carrey's "Liar, Liar", but is hard to say.

Mariah Carrey and company acting suck, well I think that is obvious that the so called "singers" can't act, ask Jessica Simpson, or Britney Spears, but well Hollywood won't change.

mariah is being featured this month's in instyle home. However, I'm more interested in the stand-in mariah model that was used - a mariah manequin. did they take the "real mariah" (if ever there was one) during the shooting of glitter and replace her with this person?

also - a general observation: are mariah's breasts actually attached to her body (or more accurately her copy's body)? I think they may be pods.

I recently remembered Sylk's sleazy line from Glitter when she says to Dice, "I didn't know you were so interested in how good I could blow."

Now, in the film this carries several connotations, most of which are plain icky, but I just realized the metatextual valence and thought, Does this explain what Glitter has done to us? After all, aren't we interested in how good it can blow?

Does this help clarify the underlying structure of Glitter studies—the intellectual engagement with popular culture's unwittingly productive failures?

According to today's IMDb Celebrity News, Mariah has signed a deal with Pepsi:

1. IMDb's lowdown on Max Beesley, a.k.a The Thruster. Z points out in particular that he has dated Scary Spice (!) and that his middle name is "Gig." Please note that not only is this word almost a reference to "Glitter," but, in that same way that Mr. Beesley is not even an actor, it's not even a name.

2. Look who plays the lead role in a 1997 version of 18th-century bonefest Tom Jones. This casting choice actually makes some sense to me. Obviously, someone said, "Who's the goofiest walking phallus in the biz?" and then they called The Bees.

I need to discuss the ramifications of max beesley's role (aka "dj julian dice") in the film glitter. This man somehow managed to visually violate me through his mere presence over the course of this entire film.

I'm hoping that these film stills might BEGIN to convey of what I speak. it appears that no matter what the context, he is always trying to rape me either with his eyes, mouth, or via his seemingly omnipresent thrusting. I wish that I had an image of him about to play the marimba in which he spanks mariah carey's ass with the marimba sticks...clearly he is sodomizing her in this shot. later while using a public telephone, he appears to be humping her from behind. he also engages in what I can only call "air thrusting" (think air guitar) in which he just thrusts his pelvis for no apparent reason except to horrify me and the audience in general.

The worst of this trauma occurs during the one literal (thank god) sex scene. While his tongue probes her, he is simultaneously besmirching the remaining innocence of my soul. Gena correctly screamed as this was happening saying "don't let him put that into you". gena perhaps unconsciously connected with what "that" is. Was gena really subconsciously asserting her autonomy screaming "don't put that in me"?* then he mounts her in what I can only describe as an unnatural way to perform the coital act. **

max beesley is not even an actor. he's not a good actor, bad actor, or unknown actor. He's not ANYTHING. even though he has a "role" in this film he is not an actor in anyway. he is only a predator. I am genuinely starting to believe that "max beesley" (if that's even his name) is actually some kind of alien plant that abducted me and conducted sexual experiments on me over the course of those 104 minutes. It didn't seem like 104 minutes to me. I ended that movie exhausted, with headaches, and most importantly feeling as though unwanted sexual acts were performed upon me. It must have been longer than 104 minutes. I lost time as a result of glitter.

I'm thinking now that it isn't the Post Glitter World - PGW - but rather a Post Glitter Abduction - PGA (not to be confused with the golfing association that perhaps non coincidentally uses a phallic item to drive a ball into a hole).

once again I can only ask the same questions all ask during this film. what is going on? what is happening to me? why am I allowing this to happen?

*later we find out dice is in an acid jazz band. anyone that joins an acid jazz band should not be allowed to insert anything in anyone ever. not even mariah carey.
